What you need to know

• Victoria’s lockdown has been extended until at least 11.59pm Thursday 19 August
• Current requirements for metropolitan and regional areas remain unchanged
• Vic NSW cross-border communities will require a permit from 6pm Friday 13 August
• Disability workers supporting people with disability by providing essential care are authorised workers

The Victorian Government has announced that existing COVID-19 restrictions will remain in place until at least 11.59pm Thursday 19 August.

Visitors are not permitted in the home except for intimate partner or single person bubble visits. Masks must be worn indoors and outside except if at home or an exemption applies.

Disability providers across Victoria should maintain existing requirements associated with residential services visitor restrictions and PPE guidelines for all service settings.

Vic-NSW cross border travel permits will be required from 6pm Friday 13 August, otherwise the eased restrictions announced from 10 August for regional Victoria remain unchanged.

Vic - NSW cross border restrictions have changed

Disability workers living in NSW border communities will need to carry a travel permit from 6pm Friday. 13 August.

The State Government advises that permits will be available online or via the Service Victoria app from Thursday afternoon, 12 August.

Vic-NSW Cross border community residents can now cross the border for organised/community sport and exercise connected to or organised by a club or facility. This has been added to the previous list of permitted reasons:

• Shop for essentials, medical care, COVID-19 test or vaccination,
• Caregiving or compassionate reasons
• For work (paid or unpaid) or education.
• To provide care and caregiving
