2021 Workmate of the Year award winner announced

The 2021 Workmate of the Year award recognises and celebrates the amazing and hard-working people in disability services who deliver outstanding support, are a pleasure to work alongside, go the extra mile and makes workplace better.

A deserving Winner – Dylan Tracy

We are delighted to announce the winner of the 2021 Workmate of the Year Award is Dylan Tracy from Humdrum, Fremantle in Western Australia.

Dylan began working at Humdrum, a disability service provider and tech-start up, in June 2020.

Through his own radical growth, grit and determination, Dylan has lifted the Humdrum community of participants, support workers, therapists and tech developers to new heights.

Nominated by colleague Tim Zafir, the breadth Dylan’s contribution to the organisation and wider community is far reaching; from successfully solving over 1,000 service requests a day, onboarding and quality assurance, to being the most requested liaison within the organisation.

Tim said of Dylan, “Our community prefer to speak to Dylan than the directors, and this is due to his ability to efficiently hear the core need and respond in an efficient and emotionally connecting way.”

“Dylan's gaming prowess has been a welcomed skill spill-over into our organisation in the form of resolving technical issues with our digital platform to requesting and designing new technological solutions to improving the quality of services.”

Dylan is considered an invaluable member of the Humdrum team, as Tim goes on to say, “Dylan's Cerebral Palsy may have created significant barriers at the workplace, however, he has excelled in recognising solutions for overcoming barriers and creating quality solutions so that both he and our organisation can thrive.” Tim said.

A worthy winner of this award, we would like to congratulate Dylan for his contribution to the workplace and would also like to congratulate all finalists and nominees in this year’s awards.
