In recognition of individuals and organisations who have gone to great lengths contributing to social justice across Australia - nominations are now open for the 2019 HESTA Community Sector Awards. The awards will be presented by HESTA and the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) honouring people who have provided quality service and shown strong leadership skills within their field.

As CEO of HESTA, Debby Blakey phrased it, the Awards are an opportunity to recognise the impact that those working in the community sector have in promoting social justice and in improving the lives of people around Australia.

$30,000 in prize money has been provided by ME - the bank for you, who have generously supported HESTA since the year 2007. ME CEO Jamie McPhee said the bank was incredibly honoured to help bring recognition to people working in the community services sector.

$10,000 will be awarded to each category which the winners will be able to put towards self provision development or further education.

The three award categories include:

• Unsung Hero
• Outstanding Organisation
• Social Impact

The award winners will be announced at the 2019 HESTA Community Sector Awards on Tuesday, 26 November 2019.
