Government COVID-19 vaccination Webinar

What you need to know

  • Vaccination rates are climbing and COVID-19 restrictions will ease
  • Unvaccinated people with disability will be especially prone to the virus
  • The Australian Government is hosting an important webinar 3.00pm to 4.30pm Friday 8 October
  • Hear from senior Government officials on steps to hasten vaccination rates

Australia will progressively lift COVID-19 restrictions as vaccination rates increase across the country.

As restrictions ease, the risk for people left unvaccinated is going to escalate - leaving people with disability, whose comparative vaccination rate lags the general population, especially exposed.

Together with the Department of Social Services, NDS invites you to another important opportunity to hear the latest arrangements being put in place to support people with disability and workers to access vaccines and discuss what providers can do to support that effort.

We are at a critical juncture.

To assist the remainder of the disability community, including disability support workers to get vaccinated as quickly as possible, it is essential for Government, providers, advocates and carers to work together.

The webinar will be co-chaired by Karen Stace NDS Senior Manager, State and Territory Operations and A/g Deputy Secretary Disability and Carers Luke Mansfield. Senior officials from the National COVID-19 Vaccines Taskforce, the NDIA and the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission will join a panel to contribute to a sector update and answer questions.
