The NDP website has been developed to the WCAG 2.0 AA compliance level to ensure content is available to the widest possible audience, including readers using assistive technology or accessibility features.
These features include:
- Images and graphics carry ALT tags to assist visitors using screen readers or those with images turned off in their internet browsers;
- The ‘Skip to content’ link is placed in the top banner to assist users with adaptive technology to quickly navigate to the content;
- Pages have been designed to be device independent (that is, users can navigate without the use of a mouse);
- Video and audio players have been chosen that incorporate keyboard commands and subtitles.
