How do I identify risks?

Think about scenarios that can impact your ability to earn an income. There are a number of risks that could be relevant, depending on the types of services you deliver, such as (but not limited to):

  • You injure your back lifting a client.
  • Your client choses another provider without notice.
  • Your client alleges they have sustained an injury and you are at fault.
  • You are involved in a motor accident with a client in the car.
  • Your client suffers an adverse reaction to medication that you administer.
  • Your laptop is hacked and client medical records are stolen.

The list of potential scenarios will be specific to you, the services you deliver and how you deliver them so it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach. The level of detail also depends on you and what is appropriate for your circumstances.

We recommend that you document this process - this is something that your broker can also assist you with.
