Accessible Versions of NDIS Plans
It was recently announced by the NDIA that all NDIS participants can now acquire an accessible version of their plan in the format tailored to their requirements (this includes larger fonts, audio options, e-Text and braille).
In order for members to be able to obtain their upcoming plan in an accessible format, the first step is to confirm any communication preferences within the ‘My Contact Details’ tab located in the myplace participant portal. Alternatively, members can also contact the National Contact Centre on 1800 800 110 or discuss gaining an accessible version of their NDIS plans with their planner or LAC. Once the request has been made, the plan will either come through to member emails or by mail within seven business days of approval.
The steps to updating your plan in an accessible plan is as follows:
1. Log into the myplace participant portal
2. Click ‘My contact details’
3. Select ‘How can NDIA contact me?’ and press the edit button
4. Select your preferred format type under the heading ‘format type’.
