Government Strategy To Strengthen NDIS

Minister for the NDIS, Stuart Robert, has recently introduced a government plan to the public detailing the steps that will be taken in order to improve the overall experience for NDIS members.

Placing particular attention on helping members achieve their aims in life, increasing levels of independence as well as boosting employment and social opportunities – there will be six primary goals the plan has been designed to meet.

- Lowering waiting periods for members to access the NDIS and quality decision making
- Greater emphasis on engagement and collaboration and extending this to more rural and remote areas.
- Market innovation with funds going into increasing jobs in the sector as well as improved technology to improve market visibility and growth through digital methods.
- Continuing to maintain a scheme that is financially sustainable.
- Making decisions based on the needs of NDIS members and seeing to it that the decisions put into effect are consistent.
- An overall improvement for participants as well as their families and carers in the long run.
