There is now potential for a further extension to NDIS Plans for participants who have fixed support requirements and feel certain that their allocated funds will provide them with what they need to reach their aims. This development is ultimately aimed at reducing the number of plan review processes for a number of NDIS participants.

Members can speak with their LAC or planners if extending their plans would work best for their NDIS plan, including discussion on circumstantial changes throughout their plan period. Prior to discussing this, members should think about the following:

- Are there any big changes occurring within the duration of that 3-year period? (leaving school, commencing or finishing in a work role, shifts in living conditions).
- What is the level of connection with social/community supports?
- What are the member’s goals and preferences in relation to the duration of their plan?
