NDIS Transition in South Australia Update

The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) announced that the rollout of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in South Australia will be delayed.

Existing State clients will have their access determined by 30 June 2018, but their transition to the transition is now expected to be completed by 31 December 2018. Meanwhile, planning for Commonwealth clients will be completed as per the original target of 30 June 2019.

According to the NDIS website, the delay was due to some factors and challenges, including finding appropriate Partners in the Community to support planning outcomes at the required pace.

The Agency and SA Government maintain that their focus in the next six months will be on providing high quality plans, experience and outcomes for clients transitioning to the NDIS.
