New Bill to Protect People with Disability
The Victorian Government has introduced a bill into Parliament that aims to strengthen safeguards for protecting people with disability from harm and abuse.
The Disability Service Safeguards Bill has two components:
- Establishment of an independent, legislated registration and accreditation scheme for the Victorian disability workforce; and
- A reform on existing protections for Specialist Disability Accommodation residents.
