New date with NDIS Review panel set

A new date has been set for the NDIS Review panel to meet the WA disability sector. The online workshop to listen to your issues and ideas for improvement, originally set for early February, will now be held on Friday 3 March.

The workshop is open to all WA disability stakeholders and NDS encourages members and participants to attend. If you are attending, you’ll need to register by 27 February. If you registered for the original workshop, you need to register again.

The date was changed to allow more people in the sector to attend and more lead time for them to prepare.

Announced in October, the Independent Review of the NDIS is examining the design, operations and sustainability of the NDIS. It is also looking at ways to make the market and workforce more responsive, supportive and sustainable. Its panel of seven includes two Co-Chairs, Professor Bruce Bonyhady AM and Ms Lisa Paul AO PSM.

Since metropolitan, regional and remote areas each have their issues, the panel wants to hear from the entire Western Australian sector. It looks forward to hearing your ideas for improvement, especially how the NDIS operates with other systems.

NDS encourages members to attend and pass on this invitation to your managers, supervisors, support workers and participants.

When you RSVP, you can also arrange for the support you might need to attend, including Auslan interpretation.

And if you cannot make the workshop, you can still submit your views and suggestions through the Review’s Have your Say page.
