The Essentials, a new resource website to help improve health services to people with intellectual disability, was launched by the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation (ACI) Intellectual Disability Health Network.

This wesbite will guide health services sector staff and service providers to better understand and meet the complex and multiple needs of people with intellectual disability, as well as their carers.

Resources available on the site include:

• 10 guiding principles of quality health services for people with Intellectual Disability
• Self assessment tool to determine areas of  focus or action for your organisation
• Links to other supports
