Peak body urges government to get it right for Australians with disability
Peak body National Disability Services (NDS) has issued a response to the Minister for Families and Social Services, Paul Fletcher's recent announcement, claiming that the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is having a real impact on the lives of people with disability.
NDS CEO Chris Tanti is urging the government to deliver the benefits promised under the NDIS.
“We campaigned strongly for the introduction of the NDIS and support the goal of quality support and choice for more Australians living with disability. However, the implementation of NDIS has been difficult and resulted in serious stress for a significant number of people living with disability, families and carers, and providers of services.”
