projectABLE: Creating a 2017 contact and resource list for student participation

ProjectABLE is a Commonwealth-funded program aimed at senior secondary and VET students.

It delivers interactive disability awareness and career workshops to inspire students to pursue a rewarding care career in the disability sector.

As part of projectABLE activities this year, we are creating a resource list of opportunities for secondary, college and TAFE students who wish to gain practical experience in the disability sector.

Participation might take the form of short or long-term volunteering, mentoring, work experience or casual/part time paid employment. Information about any training and development opportunities your organisation may have to offer would also be very welcome.

If you are interested in having details of your organisation included in the resource list, please fill in this form (with accessible version) and send it back to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by 10 February 2017. The information will be compiled and provided to teachers and career advisors so that they can contact you directly.

At the end of each workshop, we provide each student with a ‘show bag.’ The show bags include information and resources to help students begin their journey to a care career. We would like to invite you to include any resources from your organisation that you think would be suitable.

Please get in touch with Lyndell George directly at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you would like to arrange delivery or collection of show bag resources or would like to be involved in projectABLE workshops in 2017. Further information can be found on the projectABLE website.
