Provider registration changes - NSW and SA

From 1 July 2018, service providers in NSW and SA will need to apply and manage their NDIS registrations with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission), rather than the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

How does this affect existing registrations and current applications in NSW and SA?

  • Existing registrations / completed registration applications for NSW and SA will be automatically transferred to the NDIS Commission from 1 July. Ensure your details are updated in the NDIA myplace provider portal.
  • Current applications must be completed as soon as possible to enable the NDIA to finalise registrations before 1 July. If your application is not completed or approved by 1 July, you will need to start a new registration application with the NDIS Commission.
  • You also have an option to wait until 1 July to submit your registration application with the NDIS Commission.
  • Note that some NDIS registration groups also require state approval that can take time, and is neither influenced nor controlled by the NDIA. Ensure you also allocate enough time for this.
