Stephen Dawson MLC announced new Minister for Environment and Disability

NDP and NDS extends its congratulations and welcomes the Hon Stephen Dawson MLC as the new Minister for Environment; Disability Services; and Deputy Leader in the Legislative Council, in the recently-elected WA Labor Government.

The Hon Stephen Dawson MLC enters the WA Cabinet and the portfolio of Disability Services with considerable experience, having been elected in 2013 to the thirty-ninth Parliament representing the Mining and Pastoral Region and serving as the Shadow Minister for Disability Services; Mental Health and Child Protection.

Minister Dawson has a strong interest and connection with the WA disability sector and is a regular attendee at NDS events, including the WA Disability Support Awards, State Conference, Lunch for International Day for People with Disability and the launch of the disability sector annual Pre-Budget Submission.

NDS looks forward to engaging with the Minister on the many opportunities and challenges facing the disability sector in WA. NDS is committed to working closely with the Minister and State Government to ensure a strong and vibrant WA disability sector where people with disability have improved access to the vital supports and services they need, and where they can exercise genuine choice.
