Victorian disability sector vaccination access expanded
What you need to know
- The vaccination program in Victoria has been expanded to include priority disability workers under 50 years of age
- All Victorians aged over 50 continue to remain eligible for vaccination
- Vaccination centres across metro and regional Victoria will deliver vaccines to eligible workers, carers and volunteers by appointment
Eligible workers can also use the eligibility checker to find participating clinics and to confirm access to the Pfizer vaccine through State centres.
Workers, carers and volunteers aged 50 and over can continue to access the COVID-19 vaccine at either their GP or at vaccination clinics.
Eligibility
Eligible residential disability services workers include staff, carers and volunteers working full time or part-time, and infrequent site visitors (e.g. management, therapists, advocates and maintenance workers). Those aged under 50 are eligible for a vaccine if they are supporting:- people with a disability with respite, education, employment, leisure, transport or advocacy
- any person with a specified underlying medical condition
- a child with a specified underlying medical condition
- any person 70 years and over
Options include:
- Commonwealth Eligibility Declaration Form
- Proof of occupation (ID card, letter from employer)
- Carers documentation (such as proof of a carer payment)
- Concession card (carer)
- Volunteer documentation (such as a letter from employer/centre-based support provider)
