Using the free Comprehensive Health Assessment Program (CHAP) 2023 release

A workshop to assist workers supporting people with developmental disability to receive thorough annual health assessments in partnership with health practitioners. Professor Nick Lennox has provided physical and mental healthcare to adults with developmental disability over a 28-year period in Melbourne and Brisbane.

He has also lead innovations in education and applied research, including appointment as the Director of the Queensland Centre for Intellectual & Developmental Disability (QCIDD), at the University of Queensland. This included three complex randomised controlled trials of the Comprehensive Health Assessment Program (CHAP).

Professor Lennox brings to this workshop his clinical expertise and passion for improving the health and health care of people with developmental disability. He will share with disability workers how they can use the CHAP to ensure annual health assessments with clinicians are effective and can prevent health problems from emerging and support management of existing needs.

Discussion will focus on supporting individuals to receive annual health assessments, barriers preventing these and opportunities for further advocacy and improvement to the health and health care of people with developmental disability.

Who Should Attend?

Direct care workers and line managers delivering Supported Indepedent Living (SIL) and in home supports to people with developmental disabilities.
