Findings on Inquiry into NDIS implementation in NSW

On 21 June 2018, the New South Wales Government started an an inquiry into the issues concerning the implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme in the state. They have now released the final report on this inquiry.

As a result of the findings of the inquiry, disability services peak body, National Disability Services (NDS), is calling on the Federal Government to urgently invest $220 million into the sector.

NDS CEO Chris explains how critical funding assistance from the government is:

"We are calling on both the Federal Government and NSW governments to invest more now as the sector starts to feel the full brunt of the changes and to ensure all people living with disability can live better lives.

“Our providers in the disability services sector across Australia are working hard with the NDIA to deliver quality care and services to people living with disability who are eligible under NDIS, but the size and magnitude of the change needs more investment to transition properly and not leave people behind.”
