Canberran lockdown restrictions came into effect from 5:00pm Thursday 12 August 2021 and will now continue until 5:00pm Thursday 2 September 2021. Canberrans should only be leaving their homes for essential reasons. These reasons have not changed.

Greater Sydney restrictions presently in place for residential and in-home support services now apply to regional NSW. Day program group activities should be suspended across regional NSW.Permit for authorised workers to work outside of Greater Sydney will be required. Financial support is available for eligible workers who are required to isolate.

Victoria’s lockdown has been extended until at least 11.59pm Thursday 19 August. Current requirements for metropolitan and regional areas remain unchanged. Vic NSW cross-border communities will require a permit from 6pm Friday 13 August. Disability workers supporting people with disability by providing essential care are authorised workers.

The ACT will enter a seven-day lockdown from 5pm Thursday, 12 August as a result of a COVID-19 case being identified in the community and positive wastewater detections reported overnight. The lockdown will remain in place until 5pm Thursday 19 August 2021. Disability support workers are considered to be essential workers.

Providers of disability residential services must implement PPE protocols and restrict visitors. Any symptoms related to COVID must be tested immediately

Three pop-up vaccination hubs will be administering first doses of COVID-19 vaccines between 9 and 13 August. The hubs will also administer second doses between 30 August and 3 September. Healthcare Australia is the organiser and has been appointed by the Department of Health. The venues are Lifestyle Solutions at Islington, Burwood and Beenleigh.

Tighter restrictions in place for 8 Sydney Local Government Areas including no travel beyond 5km from home. Tighter masks rules for the 8 LGAs. People unable to wear a mask need to carry proof. Eligibility criteria for JobSaver and individual financial support has changed.
