On 17 June 2021, the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) reviewed their advice on the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. They recommended Pfizer as the preferred for vaccine for people aged under 60 years. This updates the previous recommendation for Pfizer over the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in those aged 16 to under 50 years.

Unrestricted travel across Victoria from Friday. Non-residential disability services can open to more people. PPE and Worker Mobility restrictions still apply. Anyone with COVD-19 symptoms must get tested.

All National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants aged 16 years and over and carers aged 16 years and over of NDIS participants of any age are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine from Tuesday, 8 June.

Information on claiming COVID supports is now available The Thomastown vaccination hub is taking bookings. The Victorian vaccination blitz continues until Sunday 6 June 2021. Details are now available about how providers can access the enhanced COVID-19 supports that the NDIS Minister announced on Wednesday, as well as booking details for the Commonwealth disability vaccination hub in Thomastown Victoria.

Additional detail on proposed NDIS reforms has been released. A key feature is the use of personalised budgets. The Independent Advisory Council will convene forums to consult on the proposals.

Current group support price arrangements will be extended by 12 months. An increase to super and the national minimum wage decision will be factored into applicable prices. SDA will be indexed for CPI.

Providers do not need to transition to the new group pricing methodology until 1 July 2022. Transition to the new pricing regime can occur anytime from 1 July 2021. NDS will continue advocating as necessary.
